     BB508 is an exquisite three (3) bedroom penthouse (top floor) in a small luxury beachfront condominium complex fronting beautiful Dover Beach on the South Coast of Barbados, near St. Lawrence Gap.   "Gap" is the common Bajan expression for "Street", and this area is known for its quaint and eclectic shops, roadside stands selling local crafts, and a plethora of restaurants (including the famous Oistins Fish Fry, a short distance away, on Friday nights).  It is the "happening place" on Barbados for those who enjoy sharing an island cocktail and mingling with other tourists and the friendly local folks.

 

     Located within easy walking distance to restaurants and nightlife in St. Lawrence Gap, all of the condominiums in this residential building overlook the fabulous Dover Beach and Caribbean Sea, and BB508 faces directly into the sunset.  Only minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport, this stylish fifth-floor apartment is sumptuously furnished and enjoys uninterrupted, magnificent views of the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea and Barbados's famous white sand beaches over the tops of the palm trees.

 

   One of the most spacious and sought-after condominiums in the group, the large living room is decorated in crisp blue and white suggesting a nautical theme.  Equipped with flat screen television and cable, the living area is well appointed in restful, neutral tones, and opens onto a spacious balcony through glass sliding doors which offer a sweeping panorama over the beach and Caribbean Sea - an ideal spot for morning coffee or an afternoon/evening libation.  The modern open-plan kitchen faces the superb view and is fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.   Dining alfresco at the round table with matching chairs on the covered balcony is a wonderful way to end a picture-perfect day.     

 

   The Master Bedroom opens onto the same private, covered terrace that overlooks two lagoon-style, freshwater swimming pools and boasts a fabulous vista of the ocean above the gently swaying palm trees from the king-sized bed!  The generously-sized Master Bedroom and Guest Bedroom #2 have modern en suite bathrooms featuring showers.  The ample Guest Bedroom #2 is also appointed with a king-size bed and could function as a second Master Suite.  Guest Bedroom #3 offers two twin beds which can also be converted into a king-size bed ensuring couples or families can be suitably accommodated.  Bathroom #3 is adjacent to Guest Bedroom #3 and features a tub/shower combination.  Just across the hall there is a laundry room with washer, dryer and large washtub in the condominium for guests' convenience.

 

    The condominium building is gated (remote or keypad entry) at all access points.  There is a security person on property 24/7.  The condominiums have two beachfront freshwater swimming pools outfitted with chaise lounges, chairs, and tables solely for use by residents and guests.   Access to the condominiums is via an elevator or interior staircase.  Each apartment has an assigned parking space for a rental car, and there is a a fully-equipped fitness center on site.

 

     A few steps away from the pool area is the long, white sandy Dover Beach, one of the most desirable and peaceful spots on Barbados and the ideal place to bask in the warm Bajan sun.  Take a relaxing swim in crystal clear, sparkling waters.  Rent an umbrella and chaise lounges from a local merchant (2 chairs and an umbrella +/- $10 per day, negotiable) or lie on the soft sand and enjoy cool tropical breezes.  To the far left of the beach is a coral and seaweed area where friendly sea turtles come to feed.  You can actually swim or snorkel with the turtles during high tide.

 

     BB508's rental rate includes maid service two (2) days per week. The condominium is within walking distance of Barbados' entertainment hub -  St. Lawrence Gap - allowing quick access to the many amenities and a wide variety of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs on the vibrant South Coast.  If you choose not to rent a car during your stay, we can arrange for a driver who is a fabulous tour guide, since driving on the left (as is the custom in Barbados) might be a little challenging for some people. 

 

     Children are welcome.  No pets.  Smoking is not permitted (local ordinance).

 

What We Really Like About This Condominium (Staff Visit):

  • It's right on a beautiful beach that offers services (beach chairs + umbrellas for rent) and is not too crowded, even during high season.

  • The beach is sandy and has a section of coral and seagrass that attracts amiable sea turtles, and is ideal for snorkeling in calm seas.

  • The view is amazing from the covered verandah; sunsets are nothing short of spectacular.

  • The condo's rooms are spacious and airy; the kitchen is well equipped.

  • The condo's covered verandah has an ample seating area as well as a dining table with six chairs.  We spent most of our time here!

  • The condo's location in St. Lawrence Gap affords easy access (walking) to a wide variety of beach bars, restaurants, small grocery stores, and shops.

  • While we do have a driver on call for our Guests, if you decide - last minute - to go out to dinner or shopping and need a taxi, there are several right outside the condo's gate who will take you wherever you need to go.
