     The historic fishing village of Discovery Bay is less than an hour out of Montego Bay (airport) and only a 30-minute drive to Ocho Rios on Jamaica's north coast.  This is where you find Columbus Park, a monument to the explorer by the same name who landed there in 1494.  Discovery Bay offers easy access to the major tourist attractions along the north coast:  sightseeing, restaurants, golf and all manner of shopping are found within a short drive.  The villas in this exclusive residential area front a calm, sandy bay with turquoise water that provides very good privacy and spectacular scenery.

 

     JM144 is a wonderful choice for a family vacation or family reunion, large group of friends, destination wedding, small business venue or anyone who wants to entertain in style.  Located beachfront on its own private 125' white sandy cove, this luxurious property - comprising a Main House and Guest Cottage - rests concealed amid a plethora of tropical trees and lush flora, and will accommodate as many as 18 guests.  The two accommodations offer the flexibility of a five (5), seven (7) or nine (9) bedroom option depending on the size of your group, and is priced accordingly.

 

     Upon entering the Main House, one can only marvel at the spectacular ocean view through the wall-to-wall open doors that stretch out to the large and inviting, comfortably furnished, oversized verandah with ceiling fans at the back of the house - perhaps the best feature of this sanctuary by the sea.  A peaceful communal spot with comfortable sofas and lounges, it is a splendid place to unwind with your family or friends, surrounded by tropical flowers adding to the enjoyment of the memorizing views of the white sand beach and serene bay.  Only steps away from the verandah is the private freshwater swimming pool (17x28', 5-1/2 feet deep) encircled by chaise lounges.  The seaside gazebo is perfect for informal meals, cocktails, massages or just to enjoy the spectacular sunsets across the bay.  

 

Main House:  The 5,500 square foot Main House faces the private 125 foot white sand beach.  It boasts five spacious bedrooms which can accommodate a maximum of 10 adults.  On either side of the great room and adjoined verandah are the two Master Suites, each with its own private patio overlooking the beach and bay.  The three other bedrooms are situated on the garden side of the villa and offer an equally tranquil retreat to curl up with your favorite book.  

 

Guest Cottage:  This newly built 2,700 square-foot, two-story Guest House makes JM144 the only nine (9) bedroom property on Discovery Bay, providing peerless accommodation for multigenerational vacations.  There is a two-bedroom suite on each floor with en suite bathrooms and small, shared kitchenettes.  

 

     Meals at JM144 are events to be savored. Whether you are enjoying breakfast set on the private gazebo at the end of the property's 100-foot dock, or you are happily devouring legendary Jamaican Jerk Beach Barbecues, the chef's culinary talents will become the highlight of your vacation.  Meals can be served indoors or under the stars on the beach. Formal indoor dining table seats 10; outdoor covered dining table accommodates 16.  There is a barbecue grill on the beach where bonfires can be set for toasting marshmallows.    ​

 

     Guests have two options when it comes to how to pay for their food and drinks:  they can either choose the All-Inclusive Package (see Rates for details) when they pay for their villa, which covers all expenses up front, or they may choose to pay for the groceries purchased at the end of their stay.  Either way, the staff will do all the shopping for you!  Once you decide how you will pay for your groceries, the chef will provision the pantry with food for your first night’s meal and your first morning’s breakfast.  He will then sit down with you and put together a plan for the remainder of your stay.  You can plan each meal or put yourself in our chef’s capable hands and let him surprise you.

 

     The property was created for family and social gatherings, and was especially designed with children in mind.  There is a play area with plenty of space for them to run free.  Four sea kayaks, Hobie Cat, windsurfer, paddle boards and snorkeling gear are provided complimentary.  ​

 

     JM144 is rented with a full staff (7) of chef, butler, housekeepers, laundress, gardener and night watchman.  Airport transfers are not included but can be arranged for you at additional cost.  We highly recommend having us provide a private driver or rental vehicle (extra charge) for you during your visit as driving in Jamaica is on the left.
