     The quiet, relatively unknown South Coast of Jamaica is home to this lovely private estate that is situated directly on a 125' slice of white sand beach near the fishing village of Whitehouse in the parish of Westmoreland.  Set away from the tourist crowds, this is where you will discover provincial coastal life on the island's tranquil southern shoreline, famous for its rugged unspoiled beauty.  

 

     JM236 is ideal for those seeking a serene sanctuary, somewhat off-the-beaten-path, on this beautiful verdant island.  Our clients love the ambiance of this former plantation house and cottage with their warm woods, four-poster beds, cool tile floors, spacious verandahs and delightful staff.  The accommodations have been preserved with the original antique mahogany furnishings, professionally decorated with island-inspired fabrics.

 

     Guests can pick ripe fruit from an abundance of trees bursting with lush mango, guava, plantain, fig and, of course, fragrant lime trees, within the four (4) acres of well-manicured grounds.  Follow the original winding stone footpath that leads you from this historic property to a secluded strip of private beach, and nearby coral reef teeming with tropical sea life.

 

     Comprised of a Main House with three (3) bedrooms and Plantation Cottage with two (2) bedrooms, 10-12 guests can be accommodated in the graceful plantation style of yesteryear with all modern conveniences, under the care of a doting housekeeper, cook, butler and gardener. 

 

     From the moment you enter the property, you can feel the vibe of bygone times surround you.  In the Main House, the open plan living and dining areas combine to make one large space.  The great room opens onto the private freshwater swimming pool, tropical gardens, and beach. Just off the great room is a cozy TV room where guests can watch satellite TV or a video, or listen to the stereo/CD in privacy.  The original mahogany details on the floor extend upstairs to the bedrooms whose windows open wide to let in the sea breezes that lull you to sleep every evening.  The wraparound porch upstairs and the stone verandah on the main floor invite afternoon reading no matter which spot you choose. 

 

     All three bedrooms are located on the second floor in the Main House. Bedroom #1 features a king-size bed with bath en suite, and connects to a sitting area which has views of the pool and sea.  Bedroom #2 has two double beds and a bathroom across the hall; walk out to the verandah shared with the Master Bedroom.  The third bedroom - Master Suite - is appointed with a king-size bed and en suite bathroom with shower and bath tub; verandah.  All three bedrooms have four-poster beds, flat screen TVs and are air conditioned.

 

     The Plantation Cottage (+/- 855 square feet including porch) is a two-bedroom retreat that features a Master Bedroom with king-size, four-poster bed and a second twin-bedded room (ideal for children or friends) with baths en suite.  The two bedrooms are air conditioned, have TVs and open onto a large (shared) porch.  The Plantation Cottage may not be rented independently from the Main House; it is used to accommodate extra guests and is a splendid option for multigenerational families or newlyweds seeking privacy.

  

      Take a dip in the pool, soak up some sun from a chaise lounge poolside or on the beach, or swim in the calm sea just steps from your front lawn.  Enjoy delectably prepared meals and snacks throughout the property; cocktail hours with hors d'oeuvres and Jamaican rum drinks; beach bonfires for toasting marshmallows.  Nap under a swaying palm tree with the gentle breeze serenading you.  Awaken to the enticing aromas coming from the kitchen or BBQ while the chef prepares a savory Jamaican repast.  Sip a tropical refreshment while being in awe of one of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see – right from your verandah. 

 

     The property has many grassy play areas, and comes equipped with an aquatryke, kayaks, paddle boards, sailboats (complimentary) and board games for adults and children alike. ​

 

     Guests have two options when it comes to how to pay for their food and drinks:  they can either choose the All-Inclusive Package (see Rates for details) when they pay for their villa, which covers all expenses up front, or they may choose to pay for the groceries purchased at the end of their stay.  Either way, the staff will do all the shopping for you!  Once you decide how you will pay for your groceries, the chef will provision the pantry with food for your first night’s meal and your first morning’s breakfast.  He will then sit down with you and put together a plan for the remainder of your stay.  You can plan each meal or put yourself in our chef’s capable hands and let him surprise you.

 

     JM236 is rented with a full staff (5) of chef, butler, housekeeper/ laundress, gardener/caretaker and night watchman (included).  This property is located approximately 2-1/4 hours from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.  Airport transfers are not included but are highly recommended and can be arranged for you at additional cost.  We also suggest having us reserve a private driver or rental vehicle, at extra charge, for you during your stay.  Keep in mind that driving in Jamaica is on the left.
