     Cap Cana is a master-planned, multi-use luxury resort and real estate community located only a short drive (15 minutes) from the Punta Cana International Airport.  Cap Cana, resting at the southern portion of Punta Cana, is home to the world-renowned Punta Espada Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus (recognized as the finest in the Caribbean) and also includes three (3) miles of beautiful white sand beaches kissed by the turquoise sea; a large, active, protected harbor with a marina - said to be only minutes away from one of the best fishing sites in the world; the amazing polo and equine center, Los Establos, Ciudad Ecuestre; a nature reserve; hiking trails through a tropical rain forest; and Scape Park.  This is where the rich and famous come to stay and play when visiting the Dominican Republic.

 

     In January of 2017, we spent most of our two week Punta Cana familiarization trip in Cap Cana where were able to experience much of what this extraordinary vacation mecca has to offer.  Our visit included a wonderful, enjoyable stay at the lavish Eden Roc at Cap Cana (DR303).

     Designed for complete privacy, each of the 34 suites at Eden Roc at Cap Cana is an oasis of tranquility and style with its own private plunge pool. High ceilings, wood beams, and expansive windows create a seamless connection to the outdoors.  Interiors by Milan designers Carlo Belgir and Marina Nova incorporate a soft color palate accented by rich woods, exquisite fabrics, modern accessories and local art.

 

     Starting with the first greeting as you approach the entrance of Eden Roc at Cap Cana, guests will find a continuum of personalized service of the highest caliber throughout this exceptional, intimate, boutique property.  The hotel's hospitality professionals, who hail from Europe and the Dominican Republic, are always attentive, yet never intrusive.  Maid service is provided twice daily.  The Three Bedroom Royale Villa and Four Bedroom Imperial Villa are staffed with private butlers.  The resort's staff is always on call to make your stay unforgettable.

 

     The layout of the resort includes the upper portion - lobby with a unique floor (a river runs through it), accommodations (see descriptions, below), Mediterraneo Restaurant, spa and small gift shop.  Guests are given a golf cart on arrival so they can easily drive five minutes to the Caleton Beach Club by Eden Roc where two other restaurants (La Palapa and Blue), a massive swimming pool (shallow section for nonswimmers and children), and the beach - sandy, private (no outside access due to the rock formations at its mouth) and picturesque - are found.  Beach Attendants swiftly set up comfortable chaise lounges, soft logo towels, and properly positioned beach umbrellas (to thwart off the sun) on arrival.

when choosing where to stay, then look no further.  Dining at

Eden Roc at Cap Cana is a gourmet's delight.  There is no

better way to start your day than to enjoy their extensive, delectable breakfast buffet accompanied with a la carte menu

options served at the Mediterraneo Restaurant, the resort's

main dining venue, located just off the lobby.  Overlooking a

vast array of colorful tropical flora and one of several swimming

pools on property, this tranquil, tropical backdrop sets the tone

for a delightful repast - whether seated inside or on the

spectacular, covered verandah.  

 

     Showcasing Mediterranean specialties at dinner (attire is 'casually elegant'), Mediterraneo presents an exceptional dining experience

for culinary enthusiasts who appreciate the intricacies of fine cuisine.    

The restaurant's menu encompasses a journey of flavors and

ingredients from Mediterranean cultures, melded with local elements

and specialties flown in from artisanal purveyors in Europe.

 

     For a more casual experience, lunch and dinner are served at

La Palapa located at the Caleton Beach Club by Eden Roc right at

the water's edge.  With the waves crashing right below your seaside

table, there is no better place to enjoy the restaurant's seafood and

classic Italian pasta specialties.  No matter where you are seated, the

breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea serves to enhance a

selection of small plates and sumptuous entrées designed by a

creative culinary team.  This dining venue is one of the most popular

     The newest addition to the Eden Roc culinary experience is

Blue Grill + Bar, a truly unique restaurant located at the private

Caleton Beach Club at Eden Roc Club. Blending urban, rustic and

chic styles with an oceanfront view, Blue Grill + Bar offers tasty and

healthy dishes

inspired by the art of Robatayaki and Nikkei cooking techniques - 

a culinary fusion between Japanese and Peruvian cuisine - at dinner (sample menu).  With its distinctive décor, lively and passionate music, and a variety of areas perfect for social gathering, the custom-made show kitchen, and cigar bar are unmatched on the island. Lunch (sample menu) includes a fine array of salads, pizza, and grilled fare, and is served on the covered verandah overlooking the large swimming pool with the Caribbean Sea just beyond.
