     SM393, tucked in the hillside above Oyster Pond, is a celebration of architecture.  Simply put, there is no other villa on Sint Maarten/Saint Martin (perhaps in all the Caribbean!) quite like this most unusual and alluring retreat.  The property is located on the east coast of the Dutch side of the island, adjacent to the French border, and comprises a three-bedroom Main House and one-bedroom Guest Cottage.  At about 80 feet above sea level, SM393 overlooks the very origin of the island's division into two separate countries:  Dutch and French. 

     With a hat-tip to Tuscan design, the two buildings are constructed of natural fieldstone and boast dramatic terraced gardens, spacious outdoor verandahs, and balconies that afford guests magnificent sunrise views of Oyster Pond, Dawn Beach, the Atlantic Ocean, St. Barths and Saba in the distance. The Main House's and Cottage's ideal positioning allows them to enjoy exceptional vistas but also to also capture delightful tradewinds which make outdoor living even more pleasurable.  The two accommodations will sleep up to 12 guests.

     The Main House features generous living space (air-conditioned living room) with multiple sitting areas (handsome wood furnishings and cool tile floors; one sofabed in the Cottage), a dining area (table seats six) and fully-equipped, modern kitchen (stove, oven, refrigerator, ice machine, microwave, blender, toaster and coffee maker).  

     The four bedrooms in the Main House include a master bedroom (king-size bed and TV), second bedroom with king-size bed, and third and fourth bedrooms with queen-size beds.  All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans.  Each bedroom has a bath en suite with shower.  Villa's amenities include telephone, TVs, DVD player, stereo with CD player, DSL Internet access, a safe, electric gate at entrance and BBQ,

     The adjacent one-bedroom Guest Cottage offers a king-size bed, sofabed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, TV/VCR, en-suite bathroom with shower, porch, and kitchen.  This is a perfect complement to the Main House, providing separate accommodation for in-laws or a nanny, as needed.

     A private swimming pool is surrounded by a large pool deck with sunny and shaded sitting areas (chaise lounges; umbrella table with chairs) that enjoy the amazing views. There are a BBQ grill and outdoor bar located here for guests' use.  Lush tropical gardens embrace the various levels of the property, further enhancing that Caribbean vibe.

    SM393 just up the hill from beautiful Dawn Beach (2-minute walk across the road, about 600 feet to the sand).  Princess Juliana International Airport - 8 miles; Philipsburg, the Dutch capital - 3 miles; Marigot, the French capital - 7 miles.  The Westin St. Maarten Dawn Beach Resort & Spa, Restaurant and nearest casino - 0.2 miles.
