About Treasure Cay

 

     VHR, WORLDWIDE's introduction into the villa and condominium rental business started in Treasure Cay when we organized the resort area's first home owner's rental program back in 1982.  We dove into this opportunity to promote and manage the vacation residences of our friends and neighbors with great trepidation.  This lovely, low-key resort community on the Out Island of Abaco is very dear to our hearts, as the President of VHR, WORLDWIDE's family has been a part-time resident since 1974.  However, Treasure Cay ticks off so many of the items on our 'perfect vacation' list that we simply could not keep it a secret.

 

     Treasure Cay's claim to fame is its world-renowned beach comprising 3-1/2 miles of talcum-powder-soft pink/white sand lapped by the most beautiful turquoise blue water that you have ever seen.  In our business, we've experienced a lot of truly wonderful beaches but few come close to Treasure Cay's shallow, expansive sandy bottom which is ideal for swimmers and nonswimmers alike.  Treasure Cay's beach is also a delight for shell-seekers as the sand bars right offshore (walkable during low tide) are strewn with sand dollars, starfish and a vast array of seashells.

 

     In addition to the amazing beach, Treasure Cay also features a full-service marina where you can dock your boat or sailboat (with advance notice).  Accomplished sea dogs can rent a boat for the day (or longer), and those who are not skilled mariners can charter a craft with a captain who will provide you with a half-day or full-day tour to some of the other nearby Out Islands (e.g. Whale Cay, No Name Cay, Guana Cay, etc.) for snorkeling, lunch, swimming with pigs and sting rays, and/or fishing.

 

     Many of our guests ask us to rent a golf cart for them in advance (they are in limited supply), as this is the best way to get around the resort community.  From the accommodations on the marina, it is only a short walk to the grocery store, liquor store, resort shops, bank and post office - even shorter trip with a golf cart!

 

     A short taxi ride will take you to the Treasure Cay ferry dock (water taxi) where you can visit Green Turtle Cay - a fun day trip.  Man-o-War Cay and Hope Town (Elbow Cay) are also interesting and can be reached via ferry service out of Marsh Harbour, about a half hour's drive from Treasure Cay.

 

     Treasure Cay's classically designed, Dick Wilson golf course - only a few minutes away by golf cart - stretches 6,985 yards from the back tees with fairways framed by thick subtropical vegetation.  Tee times can be made through the golf clubhouse; special island golf events and unlimited play packages are updated regularly.

 

      While there are several restaurants within walking distance of the marina area, a five-minute taxi ride will take you to other dining options.

 

     We have a wealth of information on the resort community, including other nearby islands to visit for lunch or the day, that is provided to our guests (renters) prior to their trip.

About BH406

 

     BH406 is a well-appointed, two bedroom, two-bath, ground-floor condominium that overlooks tranquil Brigantine Bay in Treasure Cay - a highly desirable, quiet spot across the road from the Treasure Cay Marina, Tipsy Seagull Bar, Marina Shop, and SpinnakerRestaurant.  Recently renovated (2019), the new owners have given this lovely vacation home a fresh new look.   

 

     The accommodation's open plan design comprises a living area, dining area, and fully-equipped, modern kitchen, plus two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.  The view of peaceful Brigantine Bay and splendid sunrises can be appreciated from the shared living spaces as well as from the furnished, covered deck just steps from the living area's large sliding glass doors.

 

     The Master Bedroom features a king-size bed with bath en suite (new shower; no tub), and the Guest Bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed (bathroom - shower, no tub, single vanity, is across the hall).

     BH406 is ideal for couples or families and has everything that you need for a relaxing and hassle-free vacation.  The kitchen is appointed with full-size appliances including a stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, blender, toaster, Cuisinart coffeemaker, food processor and ample dinnerware, cutlery, and cookware.  The dining area will seat four and the kitchen counter can accommodate another four guests.  There are a full-size washer and dryer in the Guest Bathroom.  Guests may also enjoy a 55" Smart TV with soundbar, DVD, Bose CD player, Internet access and WiFi.  The homeowners' new grill is conveniently located on the patio.

 

     BH406 is two blocks from Treasure Cay's magnificent beach - an easy walk or golf cart/bicycle ride.  There is a shared swimming pool (one of four for condominium owners and their guests) only a few feet away, and two tennis courts nearby for the exclusive use of the residents. Guests can park their rented golf cart or bicycles just outside the condominium (free parking).  The property is well-maintained with colorful tropical flora that really gives the impression of residing on an island.  The Manager is available daytime during the week to assist with any questions or special requests.

     A 10-minute walk or five-minute golf cart/bicycle ride will bring you to the local grocery store which is well stocked with everything most people need.  Also in the same small shopping area are a liquor store, ATM, cafe, gift shop, laundromat, hardware store, tour office and more; and car, golf cart and bicycle rentals.  

​

     Children are welcome.  Pets may be considered on an individual basis with a special damage deposit (separate from the customary security deposit).  Smoking is not permitted inside the condominium.  Guests will be expected to abide by the community's policies and courtesies regarding noise levels after hours, and the use of the swimming pool(s) and tennis courts.

​

     We highly recommend that you select the Concierge Service Package ($50) which will ensure that there is a taxi waiting for you at either Treasure Cay International Airport or Marsh Harbour International Airport as well as a golf cart reserved for you in advance of your arrival.  These are important considerations to avoid disappointment as services are limited.

 

What We Really Like About The Treasure Cay Resort Community (Staff Visits):

 

• The beach is nothing short of spectacular.  National Geographic rated it one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the World.  None of our properties in Treasure Cay are more than two blocks away from the beach and it is never crowded, even during high season.

• The beach is 3-1/2 miles of talcum-soft, pink-white sand with calm water.  Great for walking, shelling, and swimming.  During low tide, you can walk out to a small island called Sunrise.

• This is a self-contained community.  You can easily walk, bike, or take a golf cart to shopping, restaurants, tennis, golf course and, of course, the magnificent beach.

• Taxis are readily available to take you to restaurants and shopping outside of the resort community, the ferry dock (to visit other nearby islands), and the airport.  The cost is set by government standards.
